So this is the Ape Cave trip I did with greg. It was pretty damn awesome. I think this is ~2 miles long, but dont quote me on that. I want to go back and hang out for longer down there, maybe bring cards and dice...

anyway, this is one of the entrances to the cave. We exited out of this one and hiked back on the surface. The other entrance is a little bigger, but not much.
This is a freaking sweet high spot in the lava tube where light was shining through... there was only this one and a less spectacular one a little ways farther. Coming out of the darkness into the vibrant colors was amazing.

Greg looking into a pit. We came up through the pit and found a little hole to climb up into this shelf where this picture is taken.

Just the walls... Looked cool though, I love the textures throughout this
Something lurking in the shadows...

Weird looking rocks... despite their look these are really solid and not wet
Some of the interiors were really large and open. We climbed up on the rim of this one and looked around.

Me trying to cast my shadow, though it shows the tube pretty well
Me slithering through the gnarly crawlspace. This was pretty sketchy, since the ceiling was filled with loose rocks. I touched the ceiling and a few of the rocks moved about. Good times.

My latest trip to the Three Sisters Wilderness... This trip is a hike that starts at Cultas Lake near Irish Mountain (I think the USGS map is Irish Mountain). Anyway, there were tons of lakes and ponds to swim/jump in = good times.

This is VERY approximate, just to give an idea. ~20 miles round trip

Nothin like backpacking with a bag-o-wine, or "Goon," and a cigar.

turquoise water was cool... I've read its from lime from sedementary rock? who knows...
